Corey Brewer, Anthony Carter, and Renaldo Balkman Traded to Knicks


NEW YORK (LALATE) – Corey Brewer, Anthony Carter, and Renaldo Balkman were traded to the New York Knicks Monday Night. The Melo deal is complex. Upwards of fourteen players, yes fourteen, were traded to get Melo landing with the Knicks. The three team deal involved active players, expiring players, and a draft pick.

First, the Knicks traded four players and one draft pick to the Nuggets. On Monday, the Nuggets for Melo picked up Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, and Timofey Mozgov. They also picked up a first round draft pick for the 2014 draft.

Second, the Knicks with Melo picked up four players. Heading to the Knicks are Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.

Third, was the Minnesota trade. The Knicks traded two players for one. Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry were sent to Minnesota. Arriving in New York is Corey Brewer.

After months of Anthony saying he wanted to go the Knicks, Melo’s wishes have been answered. He is expected to take to the court for New York Wednesday night. He has previously said about moving to New York “I have to do what’s best for me and my family. I’m just taking my time.”
