Screen Actors Guild Awards 2011: Red carpet fashion
Awards show season continues with the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring television and film. Colin Firth and Christian Bale took home SAG prizes in a ceremony that is a prelude for acting honors at the Academy Awards.

The Fighter’ won two of its four nominations, as Melissa Leo and Christian Bale received statuettes. Dickie Eklund, the man whom Bale played in the biopic, surprised him onstage. “How do you like me now?” Eklund joked.

In television, notable wins included Betty White for female actor in a comedy series (‘Hot in Cleveland’), and Alec Baldwin’s fifth consecutive SAG victory for ‘30 Rock.’

The Screen Actors Guild also recognized Steve Buscemi, Julianna Margulies, the casts of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and ‘Modern Family,’ Al Pacino, Claire Danes and Natalie Portman. Ernest Borgnine received a lifetime achievement award for his seven decades in film and television.
